Our society is becoming more and more digital with every breath. Whether it be party invitations via Facebook or applying to potential jobs on LinkedIn or Indeed the need to be visible and proficient online as well as have a strong online presence is vital. People skills do not play as large of a role now as they have in the past. Rather, we need to have online skills and be multi-faceted in that sense. In taking Digital Culture I hope to find a deeper understanding of this movement and the needs to appear strongly online. I always ask why to everything I’m told and I can’t help but wonder why this movement is occurring. Why would employers prefer to find potential employees in the limited world of the internet as opposed to in the limitless real life? I assume they find ease and simplicity in this method but I hope there are more answers than that. I hope to learn all of this and more in Digital Culture.
